Perhaps. I've never been to other planets before coming onto the Thor, so it's hard to say for certain.

Alternate Earth, most likely. Now that I think about it, I think the reason those "cats" didn't look too odd was because we have creatures that look a bit similar.
It's a bit of a trend. I've noticed it with that sculpture at the gala, too.
